Quick Snacks to Pack
Are you the type that’s constantly on the move; from one place
to the other, you are always everywhere, can’t even spare fifteen minutes to
have a decent meal. more like you are the workaholic, or simply someone who
just prefers having a snack when you get bored or hungry. You Somewhere in the
bus on your way back from work or school, you starving what can you eat, before
you die (Lol), well I did this for you;
Health wise snacks aren't advised to be consumed in large
quantity, just couple bites and you supposed to call it a quit, but some are
just too tasty, you can’t just live without (Lol). I too am big on snacks and
here in Lagos its apparent we are blessed with many mouthwatering ones’; I did
my homework to try couple of them out before writing this article, you won’t
like all, but must like one
·
Beef Sausage:
this one is the first item you should have in your hunger first aid kit,
relatively cheap and easy to consume, you will find it everywhere, even if you
are in a moving vehicle, guys are always hawking it, there are many different brands,
which offers you a wide range of choice. I like this but like most people, am also
tired of it.
·
Potato
Chips: I like this one really much; very crunchy and spicy, also very
cheap, very retail friendly, you probably find it anywhere just like the beef
sausage. As good as it is, be careful there are many, that doesn't taste so
great.
·
Plantain
Chips: This one is pretty old, everyone has tasted it, plantain prepared in
a special way. Plantain chip is quite cheap, but like the potato chip they are
many brand with different price range and a very different taste. My advice, be very picky when buying.
·
Roasted
Plantain: Also popularly known as bolly (Delicious), best when served hot,
prepared locally by few specialist, you won’t always find bolly around, make
sure when you see one, go and buy it. It’s not packaged or branded so the taste
solely depends on the person selling the roasted plantain, it’s a trial and
error something, once you find a good one, always come back for more.
·
Packaged
Meat Pie: Stumbled upon this recently, it’s worth the price. Cheap and packaged,
allowing you to smuggle it with you anywhere you go, still new to old snack
lovers like myself. Next time you see it, don’t ignore, now that’s and order
not an appeal (Lol).
·
Packaged Cake:
Like the big one’s very yummy and delicious. It comes in different sizes and
taste, there’s a taste for everyone, buy it and that’s money well spent.
·
Jam Donut:
You won’t find this commonly around; if you do, you must be really lucky. University
and polytechnic students are the witness to the delicious taste of the home
made Jam donut. This is every student must bite.
·
Egg Roll: Healthy and delicious, there’s no harm in
having an egg roll. Cheap and easy to find, but be mindful of where you
purchase your egg roll from, some people are dirty.
·
Puff Puff:
My childhood favorite, most people mix this up with buns, but there aren't the
same, puff puff is the smallish round oily balls that have a smooth surface. This
isn't so portable, in the sense that you can’t eat it anywhere due to its
strong aroma and bad packaging.
·
Buns:
Just like puff puff, it goes back in time, I prefer this one to puff puff,
because of it has less oil compared to puff puff. It has a rough surface and is
more filling.
·
Chin Chin:
Lol; we all ate this one when we were little kids, and till today some of us do
eat it. I don’t like it much, because of the noise you make when eating it. It is
packaged and has many brands distributing it, find your favorite and satisfy
your tummy.
And there you have it, snacks you should pack for stomach’s
emergency. Please be mindful to inspect the snacks you buy, especially the
locally made ones, your hygiene should be considered before you go about
consuming any of them.
